The honest take
Otterly.ai was one of the first AI search monitoring tools and they did a great job framing the category. The trade-off in 2026 is coverage and price. Otterly's entry tier is $29/month and tracks three engines. SignalKit's free tier is $0 and our top tier covers eight.
If you only care about ChatGPT and Google AIO, Otterly is fine. If your buyers also use Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Grok or DeepSeek — and increasingly they do — you'll want broader coverage without doubling your bill.
SignalKit also exposes a REST API on every plan (including Free). Otterly does not advertise an API at the time of writing, which makes it harder to pipe results into your own dashboards or hand a key to an AI agent to manage tracking on your behalf.
Common questions
Can I import my Otterly prompts into SignalKit?
Yes. Paste them into the prompt list when you create a project, or POST them to /api/prompts. There's no scraper, just copy/paste or API.
Does SignalKit track Google AI Overviews like Otterly does?
Yes. Google AIO is one of the 8 LLMs SignalKit tracks. It's available on Pro and Business plans.
Ready to switch?
Free forever for 3 prompts. No credit card. API key included on every plan.
